camelstock shut down
Overstock.com had its lawyers call us today and demanded that we rename camelstock, after twice approving our site for inclusion in their affiliate network. While we don’t think their legal threats of trademark infringement have any merit, we also don’t want to continue working with such a company. Therefore, we will no longer be providing price watch functionality for products sold by the “Big O”.
Pour out a little of your 40 for a fallen camel, if you can spare it. And here’s the Overstock contact page, in case you want to thank them.
Update, Monday, February 1, 2010: I just received another complaint. Apparently, their lawyer found a place on the web where he could still see a camelstock logo. Yes, the following image really bothers them that much:

Canada
France
Germany
Japan
United Kingdom
United States

Good for you for standing up to them. That’s a ridiculous claim to begin with, so it’s there loss even more than ours. I’ve already sent them an email with my thoughts on the matter.

Done!

Hounding camelstock.com is stupid as it only brings you business (no I don’t work for them). Your return policy is stupid because your partial return policy is vague as hell and I’ll never shop at a site if I don’t know what my return policy is like. Doesn’t matter since everyone else’s return policy kicks your ass anyway.
For doing so many stupid things, I have concluded your site is stupid and will no longer shop here. Don’t blame Wall Street for your stock troubles, you have a crappy price because of the stupid way you treat your customers.
Stupid!

What a mistake on Overstock’s part. I wouldn’t even check them if it weren’t for camelstock.

I’m with Bobby. If it weren’t for camelstock, I’d never bother with Overstock. It’s totally their loss!! Long live the camel.
