The Camelizer v1.4 for Chrome and Firefox released!

July 27th, 2010 by dan

After two rounds of beta releases, we have decided to push the Camelizer live.  This means that both the Firefox and Chrome versions of the Camelizer are ready for public use, and that everyone should upgrade as soon as possible.  Why?  You’ll get back Amazon support, and in a redesigned interface that we think is much nicer.  You can read about the recent changes in detail herehere, and here.

It will take a few days for the reviewers at Mozilla to get the Firefox add-on added to their site but the Camelizer for Google Chrome is out now and ready for consumption.  Here are the links:

Please let us know what you think of this new release by reviewing / rating it on the browser add-on sites linked above or by posting in our feedback area.  Thank you and we hope you enjoy this release!

Update – 2010-08-08

Since Mozilla is taking forever to review the Camelizer, here is a URL where you can download it from their site: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/14392/versions/ – the latest version is at the top of the list.

Remember!  Look at the bottom of your Firefox window for a Camel icon; this is how you access our price history charts in the new version of the Camelizer.

I have tried this and have several problems: here it says this is version 1.4, but at the page where you can install it, it is version 1.2. The preference is grey (I cannot select it). I do not see any way to activiate the plug-in. I am using Firefox 3.6.6.

Miker: Mozilla has yet to approve v1.4, so you’ll have to wait for that to happen before you can install it. And right now The Camelizer has no preferences and that is why it is greyed out / disabled.

Otherwise, just visit a supported retailer’s product pages and click the Camel icon in your status bar. The Camelizer should pop right up.

FYI, as of 8/8/2010, the link still installs 1.2 (and still does not function at Amazon; at the bottom of the Amazon page is the message “The Camelizer v1.2 for Amazon has been deactivated at Amazon’s request.”)

Is there no other way to obtain 1.4 other than the link to the Mozilla addons url?

Firefox just updated your new version for me. LOVE IT! :-) Thanks so much.

Dwight, I’m overwhelmed with Camel-related joy to hear that!

Just downloaded Camelizer 1.4 for Firefox but it still isn’t working on Amazon. Help!

Dan 2010/08/10 at 11:58 am

Todd, do you see the Camel icon in your status bar at the bottom of the Firefox window? Go to an Amazon product page and click it, you should see our price history chart.

Oops, it IS working, just didn’t know where to look for the camelizer chart.

Good to hear, Todd. I have added a note about accessing the Camelizer to our two recent blog posts about it, hopefully that helps people out.
