camelstock shut down
Overstock.com had its lawyers call us today and demanded that we rename camelstock, after twice approving our site for inclusion in their affiliate network. While we don’t think their legal threats of trademark infringement have any merit, we also don’t want to continue working with such a company. Chad Skelton, the Curious Dad at the Vancouver Sun, wrote a nice review about using the Canadian version of camelcamelcamel to save money at Amazon.ca. New long-term price history chart options
The last site update removed the button that linked to our long-term price history page, and at least one person was (rightly) dismayed at the lack of historical love. For the last couple of weeks I have been working on redesigning the product page on all of our Camel sites. For Amazon, this included adding “Overview” and “Share” tabs, with the rest of the sites receiving the Share addition only.

Power outage
Sorry about the downtime today, we had a power outage at our colo. After the power came back a couple hours ago, I wanted to make sure everything was OK before opening our sites back up (thus the extra hours of downtime). There were no problems, thankfully, and now the sites are back.

Camel DNS servers attacked
All of our sites were unavailable to certain geographic regions today as our DNS host was under DDoS attack. Things seem to be coming back to normal though, so thanks for your patience during this period of questionable availability.

Last night I finished up the first version of the Camelizer for Google Chrome. Like its sibling for Firefox, the Camelizer adds our price history charts to product pages on the sites of our supported retailers (Amazon, Newegg, etc).
